Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles was released last month for the Wii and is the latest chapter to the Resident Evil series. Darkside covers Resident Evil 2, Code: Veronica and also introduces a new chapter to the saga starring Leon Kennedy and Jack Krauser.

Capcom has sent over ten copies for us to giveaway as part of our 25 days of giving contest series and in order to win a copy, we want you to show us your dark side. Simply take a picture or video tape yourself doing something that shows us an evil side of yourself. Whatever you do, make sure it's nothing illegal and/or can physically harm someone.

Your picture or video must have something Destructoid related in it (no photo editing allowed). You have until this Friday at 11:59 PM CST to submit your entry in the comments below. The ten best entries will each get Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii.

Onwards! Today in Curse of Monkey Island, we meet an evil demon skull, escape evil pirate Bloodnose's cabin, kill the Zombie Pirate LeChuck, wreck his ship 'The Death Starfish' and escape alive, and meet up again with Elaine! Oh, what an adventure! :D

You know, since Saturday, I think I've clocked my first forty-hour week. I think I'd like to go back to slacking now. (EDIT #1: Hnnnngh looks like I'm working ten hour days today and tomorrow too WHOOOO) Feeling much better otherwise, though! Although hnnngh Internet is slowing down VERY early this month, please don't give me slow connection speed for Christmas. :C

Durrrp, that's about it, really; nothing much has been happening in Jonesyworld. I picked up Resident Evil 5 for Dad, since he has played RE4 to DEATH, and Parappa the Rapper 2 for myself, which I am...failing pretty miserably at. Boo.

Still feeling that disconnect from Discedo, too. I love the Persona cast there, but other than that, I don't really want to get into it any further than I have to, you know? I figured if I just pushed through it, maybe, but...nope, not really.
On the upside, Paradisa is going from strength to strength! I was initially hesitant when I introed Apollo there, but now he's settled in, I think I'll be happy with him and Yukiko for awhile. It's a thing, really; if I have three characters in there, no matter how much I love them, I immediately start getting stressed and worrying about AC. With just two, I can take my time and hit it, no troubles, totally relaxed. All that's left is to RESIST TEMPTATION and not apply anymore. Not that I can until December is over.

When I was young, I read a maths puzzle in one of my primary school maths textbooks which has stuck with me for a really long time. It kind of floats to the top of my head semi-randomly and it's doing so now, probably because it involves cowboys.

Anyway.


There are three cowboys. Their names in the puzzle are Cowboy A, Cowboy B and Cowboy C, but just for a personal touch and because it fits the story I'm going to call them Angel Eyes, Blondie and Tuco (feel free to call them Adamska, Big Boss and Otacon if you'd prefer but it's a lot less IC for them). Anyway, Angel Eyes, Blondie and Tuco get into a three-way Mexican standoff over some gold. Each is holding a revolver fully loaded with six bullets.

None of them can work up the nerve to shoot or lower their guns and they have been staring at each other for several hours and their eyes are all getting tired, so eventually they decide they will take turns to shoot once. Angel Eyes has a 5/6 chance of hitting his target, Blondie can hit his target half the time, and Tuco can hit his target 1/6th of the time, so they agree, to be fair, that Tuco gets to shoot first, then Blondie, and then finally Angel Eyes.

Tuco, if he takes the correct decision, actually has the best chance of earning the gold. What should he do, and why?

Uuuuugh I want to be on a non-LJ site, but I don't have the energy to relocate to yet another superior blog site that not enough people/communities will go to to make it worth bothering with. Blogger is nice but I hate the inability to directly reply to comments. Maybe I'll squat my name at Dreamwidth or something.

ETA: Looks like they're claiming it was a flaw in the beta code that was never meant to go live. Sure, LJ. I'm not buying that after the various other "errors" that made not-easily-marketable-to-advertizers people yell at you. There have been too many mistakes like that within the last few years, and LJ would be more careful than this if they actually gave a shit. Not just about user interests, but about the mere accuracy of the coding. This is right on the heels of the coding mistake in those cookie virtual gifts. The one that hamstrung the site for days so no one was getting any comment notifications.

Okay, here's what's going on. Nikki and I are cracking down hard and almost done with the print version of Book Four. It will be up VERY VERY VERY SOON, I'm hoping within the next couple of days. I just checked Lulu's holiday shipping deadlines, and if you live in the states and use ground shipping (and we can get the book posted by tomorrow, which is my hope, but Nikki and I are both very busy so we are going to do our best), you will get the book by Christmas. If you use expedited shipping, you have until Dec. 18th to order. If you use express shipping, you can order until Dec. 21st.

I don't know that the omnibus will make it out in time for Christmas, but we're going to try really hard to at least make it available by the express shipping deadline. We still need to bang out the special features and cover for it.

Speaking of special features, the print version of book four will include "Cooking With Ice Cream: An Erotic Recipe Book", full of fun and exciting things you can make yourself if you ever decide you want to have a meal influenced heavily by aliens. YOU NEVER KNOW.

On the bright side, while eating, I had an in-depth discussion with my father over whether Danny Elfman or Ennio Morricone would win in a fist fight.

Dad voted Ennio, because he'd bring 'all his people along' and he'd have The Man With No Name on his team and Elfman would just have Peewee Herman and Homer Simpson.

I pointed out that Elfman also scored films like Spider-Man.

We then ended up discussing whether Spider-Man or Blondie would win in a fight.





It's nice having a fandom my parents have, you know, heard of. not as nice as it would be if I still had that fic, though
