Apparently I am still, largely, an innocent flower!

I might put up another drabble request in a sec, since I'm completely bored off my ass.

I'm kinda disappointed by how little of On Ice is on here, actually. That has so many of my favourite songs and it was the last album they put out before breaking up.

You know, I was going to make a post with the pictures I took around the city recently, but then I stumbled across this blog in my perusals. If anyone's ever wanted to know what Jonesy's city looks like, you can't go past this. We even have our own scramble crossing.

I also visited this church the last time I was in the city. If there's anywhere that God truly exists, it's in a place like that.

So I just added a bunch of people from [info]theoregontrail. 'sup, guys?

To your left, you'll find screencap adventures of various games with my entertaining/retarded/ridiculous commentary along with them. I don't really have the drive to do them anymore, but there's a fair amount there!

To your right, on the sidebar, you'll find links to most of the fanfiction I've written. Plenty there for you to see!

Straight ahead, you'll find retarded memes and rambling about my life. Something has to be really, really private for me to f-lock it, so it's likely all there.

Do call me if you have any questions!

Yo, LJ. Questions for you.

1) Is it actually physically possible to bruise your cheeks from blushing? This smacks of being one of those dumb things that can't actually happen, but might actually be possible.

2) Are there any memes as active as [info]badbadbathhouse (Persona 4) and [info]teagueful (Phoenix Wright)? I'd love to trawl them.

Approximately midday of May 23rd: I go to the store with my delicious birthday money and buy a copy of Persona 4.

About 2pm of May 23rd: I attempt to play Persona 4, but since my parents are TALKING VERY LOUDLY with their friends, I decide to give up.

Midnight, May 23rd: Finally starting! Long intro is LONG and I get about an hour through it before I cannot keep my eyes open any longer. THE PARTY WAS GOOD, BY THE BY. Mostly got money and gift cards and a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

5:30am, May 24th: ALRIGHT LET'S DO THIS. I take a shower and then proceed to play for about 4 hours straight.

11am May 24th: Refreshed after a break, cleaning up the house and stuff! Back on.

6pm May 24th: Finally take a break after getting my ass handed to me by an enemy. MY EYESSSS

I haven't played a game so extensively since Final Fantasy VII, guys. This game is just...so much love.

Been on a bit of an animanga kick lately.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Watched the first 8 episodes. Very interesting and well-deserving of its place as a classic. Says a lot about me that finding out that Shinji suffered from crippling depression heightened my interest in the show about 500%. Last episode I watched was Asuka's intro and seeing her curse and hit people in German was pretty badass.

Death Note: Read up to Chapter 44 in the manga. Much easier to digest than hours of anime, and it's getting a little slow right now. Needs more Misa acting retarded. L looks like some hideous lovechild of a frog and a gremlin half the time and it's awesome.

I'll get right on the Great Cafe Offensive...you know, later. Had a huge scare earlier today where I thought my whole USB stick - including my novel, current essay, and that short story and all my games - were randomly deleted. Thank god they weren't.

...shameful secret? I've been listening to Blink 182. The old stuff. S-sob, my indie cred!

Bananas in Pyjamas - intro

This post brought to you by Jonesy's childhood which didn't recall Agro being THAT filthy.

I dreamed I was writing the first few sentences of a short story last night. It was awful, since they were really good turns of phrase and I can't seem to remember them!

Writing the story anyway, though. It's turning out pretty well.

So, under recommendation by the lovely [info]disbelieves, I just checked out the first episode of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

...what the shit, Nicole. It's bizarre as hell and I COMPLETELY LOVE IT. Anything that goes from a dude hanging themselves to SPARKLY PINK SHOUJO LOVE SPEECH in under a minute is a-okay by me.

Also the music in the opening sequence is really funky, god damn. Art style is intriguing, too.

At least I know where that DESPAIR line came from now.

Also apparently I am hardcore in love with Naoto now, LIKE ABOUT HALF THE INTERNET. God damn it, [info]agendered. Which reminds me, [info]atoli bought me icon space for [info]yukarchery so I am officially obligated to say that I love her utterly.

Hearing your mother yell 'noob!' at your father over a game of poker, completely sincerely, is an intensely painful experience.

I don't recommend it.

I got some new sunglasses. )

I also totally binged on Dragon Quest VIII today. Something about the simplicity of it, the charm of the art, the delicious European voice acting...it's just good. All of it, good.

Is your cat plotting to kill you?

Nothing much else to report! University's starting up again next week, but I just have one more class to do to fill up the credits and then I'll be freeeeeee~ until I go back next year, maybe, for my postgrad of education. D:

The novel's quietly chugging along; nowhere near the 1000-words-a-day I was hoping for, but it's still going, and that is what's important. RPing seems to be taking a lot of my attention, despite my desperate pleas to myself to keep it to three characters.
Still rolling the idea of the next screencap adventure around in my head. Something short would be ideal - one of the GBA Sims games is honestly appealing to me - and perhaps a little platformer would be best.
Suggestions on that are welcome!

Space Bazaar is doing okay, too! Go join that. :V

...that reminds me, I should do the next bit of that Phoenix/Franziska fill. S'been a few days now. Also I want candy.

I just realised something in the shower, as most people do.

It's long been proven that Kingdom Hearts has one of the most ravenously batshit crazy fandoms on the Internet. I mean, they're up there with goddamn Naruto. But you know what I realised?

This is a series of games about friendship, loyalty, optimism, and Disney fucking Princesses. And it has some of the most vitriolic hatred I have ever seen surrounding it.

I don't know, man. Something about that is just inherently hilarious.

(Also picked up Tekken 5 on the cheap yesterday. I honestly do not recall what I saw in this series. Perhaps Soul Calibur has spoiled me.)

Jonesy's Last Seven Days in Seven Sentences

Persona 3 can entertain, make you get into NO U arguments with friends, and force you to burst out into the battle song at inopportune moments.

Psychonauts can completely blow any platformer I've played in years out of the water, as well as hit that psychic-nerd sweet spot.

Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King can soothe the old need for SNES-level RPG action, as well as tell you that 'A slime appears' should not be as comforting as it is.

Silent Hill 3 can be painfully obtuse, to the point where you need to have a walkthrough open next to you just to get through at a good clip, while not even being that scary.

Kingdom Hearts II can have a slightly, slightly more difficult final boss battle.

The Simpsons Game can make you curse like a sailor.

Final Fantasy XII can have one of the most satisfying endings in quite awhile, and still leave you hungry for more.

...Soul Blazer can come later. XD
